• Counselors are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Helpline Counselors will assist callers with suicide intervention, crisis counseling, information and referral services, and follow-up. 
• Counselors will help you identify the best options and will help you develop an action plan for you, your family, or friend. 
  • A unique aspect of our services are our follow-up activities, where counselors will contact you after the call to see if you have questions or need further assistance.

• Services are confidential and immediate crisis counseling is available 24/7 provided by counselors who are fluent in English, Spanish, and Creole.  YOU HAVE A FRIEND.  No matter how tough things appear our counselors will stay with you no matter how long or how difficult the situation until you or your friend is comfortable to get the help you need.
• Their qualifications include Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Psychology and Social work.
• In addition, they are certified by the national Association of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) and by the American Association of Suiciodology (AAS). Staff and volunteers are required to complete a minimum of 65 hours of training prior to engaging in crisis counseling.
• They have an extensive database of over 3,000 service programs, including counseling centers, and agencies that provide services related to the issues affecting the GLBT community. 
• Other services listed include faith-based help centers, Baker Act information, bereavement programs, substance abuse treatment, support groups, in-home counseling, sex & love addiction support and youth oriented programs.
